Google logo turns on the Wind Power

Every so often Google adapts it’s logo on their homepage to whatever is important that day or season. Most recently Google launched another series of it’s design contest Doodle4Google. This year’s theme is “What I Wish For The World”. The familiar Google logo is designed around the Google proposed theme.
This year Google says that “the world are undergoing significant change. At Google we believe in thinking big and dreaming big and we can’t think of anything more important than encouraging students to do the same.” So the kids went and got creative. It is one design that has gotten us very excited. A 12 year old from Parkersburg, WV came up with a Google Wind Power Logo. His wish for the world is “To develop ways of producing pollution-free energy. Harnessing the wind on wind farms would be a clean energy source. Building wind towers on a wind farm is a good way to produce electricity. It produces no waste and needs no fuel,” he said.

The logo made it into the finals and will appear on the Google Home page. You can vote for it here.

Google has recently been in the news when it received a patent for a sea and wind powered off shore data centre and for the Jellyfish entry into the “Project 10 to the 100th” contest.
