2012 UK All-Energy Exhibition and Conference Announced

London, 16th August 2011 –
by Colin Houghton.

Plans have been unveiled for next year’s All-Energy Exhibition and Conference to be held in Aberdeen, Scotland, United Kingdom, following the success of the 2011 Conference in May 2011. It will take place at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on 23 and 24 May 2012.

The Conference has been held in Aberdeen (known as “The Energy City”) since 2001 and continues to be the United Kingdom’s largest event devoted to all sources of renewable and clean energy, including onshore and offshore wind power.  The 2011 Conference attracted over 580 exhibitors from 20 countries and nearly 8,000 participants from over 50 countries.  Countries represented included: Algeria, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, China, Cuba, Denmark, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, Malaysia, Mexico, Norway, Peru, Philippines, Portugal, Spain, South Korea, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates and the USA. This smashed the previous attendance record and represented a 35% increase in size from the 2010 Conference.  The Phenomenal growth of interest and activity in the field of renewable energy can be seen clearly when one notes that the first event in 2001 had less than 50 exhibitors and an attendance of 350!

The All-Energy Conference in May of this year had many highlights, but most agree that the Giant Networking Evening was a success, networking being a key activity in advancing business and innovation in identifying, harnessing and developing renewable energy.  In particular, the Dodgems seemed a great way to “bump” into people! The Scottish First Minister of the Scottish Parliament spoke and pledged that he would move “still further and faster” to secure Scotland’s place as the green energy powerhouse of Europe.

An associated event at the event on 19 May was the “Canada Business Breakfast” where the Canadian High Commission hosted two free breakfast seminars.  Of particular interest was the talk “Wind Energy Development and Supply Chain Opportunities in Canada” given by Scott Harper, Chief Executive of Canada’s Wind Energy Institute. It’s so civilized to network over coffee and croissants!

While there will inevitably be some new developments, the 2012 All-Energy Exhibition and Conference will not change the basic mix of combining a major exhibition, free-to-attend multi-stream conferences and of course networking facilities. Why tamper with a winning formula? The event will be organized by Reed Exhibitions, who plan to continue the rapid growth of the All-Energy Exhibition and Conference and retain its position as the leading “all renewables” event in the United Kingdom.

Admission to the exhibition and conference will once again be free of charge to all with a professional interest in renewable/sustainable energy. Accommodation is being secured and the organizers say that bookings will be able to be made in a month or two by checking out their website at https://www.all-energy.co.uk.
