The event is being organised by Green Power Conferences, who have a proven track record in this area, having organised over 200 of them since 2003. As the name suggests, Green Power Conferences specialise in renewable energy and have produced over the years a broad portfolio of events for the wind, solar, biofuels, biomass, biogas, geothermal, ocean energy and climate finance markets. Their avowed mission is to fight climate change with event media and accelerating a transition to a green economy by connecting key people in the renewable industries.

Sessions over the two days include one on the International promotion in the integration of a national supply in the Mexican Renewables Sector, including questions such as when a national supply chain will become viable? The training and re-skilling the Mexican workforce to work in wind and the role of local content incentives- could the government assist in creating an attractive market? There will also be one focusing on the particular opportunities in Mexico and beyond. This session will look at optimising Wind Farm Siting, Permitting and Construction, ensuring effective community engagement, negotiating land rights, tackling rough construction terrain, avoiding social exclusion and unrest and optimizing supply chain logistics.

By the end of 2012, Mexico had 1380 MW of installed and connected wind power.  According to Leopoldo Rodríguez Olivé, the President of AMDEE (the Mexican Wind Energy Association), there is the potential to develop 12 GW of installed capacity by 2020. Looking the growth of wind power in countries like Germany, Denmark, the United States, Spain, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Italy and even China and Brazil, Mexico and Latin America is relatively unsaturated in wind power projects. Consequently, there are great opportunities for bold investors in Mexico, which is why the conference is attracting so much interest.
